Pastor Roger Adkins is a native of Fairfield, Iowa. While growing up, what can only be described as a miracle, occurred to Pastor Roger as a very little boy. He wondered away from his mother on the family farm, while his older siblings were rounding up the cows for milking, he was accidently stepped on by a cow. By the time his mother reached him, he was already blue and in his mothers words "When I picked him up he was like a wet dish rag" because he had no vital signs, and looked like he was dead. She looked towards heaven and prayed “If you let him live Lord, I will give him to you.” By the time, Pastor Roger arrived at the local hospital, he was healed and the seeds of a future ministry planted.

In another divine intervention this time occurred before Pastor Tammy was born. Her mother, in the midst of marital difficulties, had decided to abort her unborn child. With a firm decision made, on the way to terminate the baby, Pastor Tammy’s mother said later on that “something inside her said don’t do this.” Listening to that voice she didn't go through with it. Later when Pastor Tammy was born, her mother described her new-born baby girl as “her angel child.”

These two miracle children were destined by God to meet one another.

They met through their mothers who had such a vital role to play in there lives. They’ve been married since 1979. They served faithfully in the helps ministry for 10 years prior to going into full time ministry as pastors 1997.

Pastor Roger is also quick to point out the value of Pastor Tammy’s praying and interceding for him during a time in the 1980s when he was running away from his calling. All of that changed in 1987, when Pastor Roger surrendered his will to God’s.

Pastors Roger & Tammy have been pastors of Living Water Family Church, located in Davenport, Iowa, since 1997. He is a 1994 graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Okla.

Pastors Roger and Tammy Adkins have two adult children, Brandon (Lizz) Adkins, and Erin (Adam) Kelley, and two grandchildren, Sadie and Milo Kelley. In their spare time, Pastors Roger and Tammy Adkins enjoy Sunday afternoon motorcycle rides on their Harley Davidson and spending time with their family.
